Young Foundations - Calm from chaos

Young Foundations provides a range of services for children and young people - with or without learning disabilities - through residential care, transition and fostering.

The young person is at the heart of everything we do - we strive for stability, calm and a feeling of security and safety for the child, who often may have come to us following a string of failed placements.

We pride ourselves on sticking with difficult cases, giving young people the space and opportunity to settle, develop and ultimately make progress. Young people who are referred to us may have a range of difficulties including learning disabilities, pervasive developmental disorders, mental health problems, and/or emotional and behavioural disorders.

Young Foundations has residential homes in the North-East and the Midlands of England, as well as in Scotland, while we can provide fostering placements in the North-East and the North-West of England.

Our residential homes can support children and young people aged between 12 and 17, while our transitions homes support those aged 16 to 25. Our foster carers offer up to the age of 18 years old (including mother and baby).

Placements can include short-term crisis intervention through to longer-term stays. Several young people in our care stay beyond the age of 18.
