The multi-disciplinary approach to residential care
involves the development of trusting relationships between the children,
young people and every person involved with the care plan. Through
trust, transparency and a holistic approach, our children's homes
provide an all encompassing care package, delivered by a team of specialist
staff experienced in the management of children and young people with
complex needs and challenging behaviours. The standards within our
homes are exceptionally high and designed to create a therapeutic
environment. This allows young people to feel at ease. Every aspect
of our service is developed with young people in mind.
Individual care plans are developed in partnership with young people,
their parents or carers, social workers and all appropriate professionals.
This is to ensure that we provide a child centred, "wrap around"
service, encouraging all young people to reach their potential.
Progress and outcomes are measured using a range of professional
tools including HoNOSCA, Children's Depression Inventory (CDI),
Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS), Connors Rating Scale and Adolescent
Rating Scale.
Our staffing levels are high with built-in flexibility to offer
additional support to young people when they need it most. Due to
the complex needs of young people placed within a Young Foundations
home staffing levels can be increased in line with individual need
to ensure that we continue to safeguard and protect everyone in
our care.
